TECH500: Lead Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage small tech projects and support other technical volunteers.
• Write scripts and connect different platforms using APIs.
• Maintain scripts (primarily Google App Script/Javascript) and other APIs and automated workflows.
• Guide and support a small team of junior engineers working on internal tools and scripts.
• Ensure teams are making progress on their assigned tasks.
• Step in as backup for other Tech Team leads when needed.
• Organize and track technical tasks using tools like Jira.
• Interview and onboard new tech volunteers.

Requirements

• Some technical, programming, or scripting experience (e.g., APIs, automation, Google Apps Script/Javascript).
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly.
• Some familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Salesforce or willingness to learn.
• Strong leadership/team building skills.
• Resourceful, can-do attitude.
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.
