Role Overview and Core Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, stateless microservices in cloud and on-prem environments.
Build and deliver production-grade, highly scalable applications using cloud-native microservices architecture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, and operations to deliver solutions aligned with business outcomes.
Develop and enhance RESTful APIs ensuring high performance and reliability.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
Improve engineering best practices using open-source tools, automation, and DevOps methodologies.
Work closely with customers and partners to understand real-world use cases and translate them into technical solutions.
Create solution design documentation and define acceptance criteria for deliverables.
Participate in Agile development processes using tools like Git, JIRA, and Slack.

Required Knowledge and Experiences

  • 8+ years of experience in software development with strong hands-on coding expertise
  • 5+ years of experience in object-oriented design and programming
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving
  • Proven experience in designing and building cloud-native microservices architectures
  • Experience working with both RDBMS and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Go
  • Strong experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Batch)
  • Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with JSON/YAML data structures and API design principles

Preferred Skills

  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Automation and orchestration tools: Ansible
  • Messaging systems: Kafka / Pub-Sub architecture
  • Monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
  • Experience with Agile/DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of protocols such as SIP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, OAuth2, STIR/SHAKEN
  • Exposure to UI frameworks such as Angular or React
  • Familiarity with documentation-as-code practices

Pay Scale Information

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $150,000 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, full-time non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
