Responsibilities
- Techs will also collect and transport large bins of waste materials from various parts of the facilities by means of pushing/pulling bins weighing several hundred pounds or by mechanical means such as pallet jacks and fork lifts.
- Technicians assist with the free flow operation of the waste collection systems, continued maintenance of processing equipment, shredders, bailers and compactors.
- Recycling techs are required to work whenever any production equipment that creates a waste byproduct is in use which is usually a 24/6 operation.
Qualifications
- Ability to individually push, pull, lift, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. and assist or receive assistance for loads weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
- Ability to become and maintain forklift certification; previous forklift operating experience is a plus.
- Ability to climb steep stairs and ladders, access machinery located in confined spaces, and work from heights in excess of 60 feet.
- Able to safely operate and maintain highly sophisticated and potentially hazardous equipment.
