Position Summary
Technical leaders focus on the technical aspects of production, ensuring correct setup and changeovers, troubleshooting, and maintaining quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates safety discrepancies or issues to Supervisor or Area Manager.
- Set up and operate production equipment according to GMP and SOPs.
- Troubleshoot equipment, devices, or products.
- Maintain inventory and ensure operators have adequate supplies.
- Read and understand product drawings and specifications.
- Confirm correct computer input of ticket information.
- Write work orders and update journals at the end of shifts.
- Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Select proper tooling, fixtures, etc. for equipment setup.
- Monitor and adjust production processes for quality and productivity.
- Inspect production for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
- Measure and record data associated with equipment operation.
- Train operators as needed.
- Operate production equipment when needed.
- Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products.
- Input maintenance work orders through Maximo system.
- Review internal email and calendar system.
- Participate in PM, MMOL, and 5S activities, and Kaizen events.
- Follow EMS procedures, including waste disposal.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, interpret documents, and write reports/business correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions from managers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift and Pallet Jack licenses.
- Knowledge of database, inventory, manufacturing, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Physical Demands
- Stand, sit, walk, use hands, fingers, handle, or feel.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Talk or hear.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 400-500 pounds using a pallet jack.
- Pass scheduled testing for vision, hearing, respirator fitting, and spirometry.
- Work in various environments, including wet or humid conditions, work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat, and vibration.
- Occasionally work in noisy environments.
Safety Requirements/PEP
- Safety shoes must be worn while on NGK property.
- Follow safety policies and guidelines.
- Wear hearing, head, and eye protection as required.
