About the Role

Acts as a key liaison between the organization and customers. Responsible for business analysis, and the development and management of high-level complexity technology projects in support of the TXNM Energy strategic plan. Initiates new projects, works with the respective Project Management Office (PMO), and/or Business Leads and stakeholders to provide project basics (scope, requirements, schedule, and budget), and manages the project through completion, including management of all project finances if required. Works within the TNMP and PNM BTS groups and coordinates with other internal departments and external third parties to ensure a successful project outcome. The position requires the ability to coordinate and manage a diverse array of project tasks for projects in different phases of completion.

Responsibilities

  • Performs opportunity analysis of future business projects and application requirements for high-level complexity projects.
  • Oversees client long-range planning, client testing and training, and system implementation for high-level complexity projects.
  • Develops business and technical specification documents for high-level complexity projects.
  • Analyzes customer requirements for impact to applications and architecture and assists customer with evaluation and recommendation of best solution to meet customer needs.
  • Conducts peer reviews of business and technical requirement documents.
  • Conducts/coordinates business and technical requirement reviews with technical staff and business unit staff for high-level complexity projects.
  • Evaluates, measures, and tracks project benefits.
  • Proactively manages all stakeholders and their respective organizations, expectations, and involvement, using consensus-building skills to ensure the project moves forward as appropriate.
  • Monitors project processes to help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Manages the project team and provides additional advice and/or guidance to resolve problems or conflicts.
  • Ensures all stakeholders are regularly informed of progress, health, and budget of the project.
  • Manages all aspects of the project budget.
  • Captures lessons learned at the close of each project for appropriate knowledge transfer.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project), work management systems, and financial/GL systems.

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience managing high-level complexity projects from inception to close, including developing business and technical requirements and concurrently managing multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Ability to guide lower-level employees in their work.
  • Minimum 4-year experience with project finance, budgeting, accounting, document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with six to seven years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

Certifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent is preferred, or a timeline to obtain it.
  • Project Management Business Analyst (PMI-PBA) Certification or equivalent is preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time and talk and listen for long periods. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Manual dexterity required, close vision, and the ability to effectively talk and listen.

Work Environment

Office environment with approximately 5% travel required.

Salary Grade: G05
Minimum: $94,831
Midpoint: $128,022
Maximum: $161,213
