About the role
We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented, and skilled Project Manager to join our onsite team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, courteous, dependable, and eager to learn. In this role, you will plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities related to construction or maintenance projects, including financial reporting and conceptual development.
Responsibilities
- Work with Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, Project Managers, and Department Managers to plan, organize, and direct project activities.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within company policy and contract specifications.
- Confer with supervisors and union personnel to discuss work procedures, complaints, and problems.
- Represent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
- Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
- Formulate reports on work progress, costs, and scheduling.
- Work with engineers to produce shop drawings from architectural drawings.
- Communicate with customers/contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage projects to ensure budgets are met and products are manufactured to customer specifications.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent and other departments to acquire tooling, materials, and equipment.
- Develop project-specific safety plans in collaboration with the Superintendent and Safety personnel.
- Communicate the company’s core value of safety and project-specific safety requirements, goals, and objectives.
- Develop project schedules in compliance with customer requirements, deadlines, and milestones; track schedule progress and update regularly.
- Identify variances from the baseline and determine corrective actions for schedule slippage.
- Provide forecasts to customers and participate in forecast/budget meetings.
- Develop project budgets based on estimates/proposals, including task breakdowns and cost codes.
- Run reports on project costs and billing.
- Prepare and distribute completed RFPs for subcontractors.
- Review subcontractor proposals for completeness and scope coverage.
- Furnish information to the Contract Administrator to complete subcontract agreements.
- Review and approve subcontractor schedules in collaboration with the Superintendent.
- Maintain open communication with customers to discuss potential future projects.
- Negotiate and approve subcontract scope changes in accordance with customer contract requirements.
- Complete take-offs and manage divisional Work in Progress (WIP) statistics.
- Report on WIP statistics at monthly financial meetings.
- Perform accurate estimates and order bonds, permits, or certifications as needed.
- Develop and distribute subcontractor RFPs based on scope of work and bid schedules.
- Develop RFP deliverables, including safety, execution, quality, and environmental plans.
- Participate in department meetings and perform additional assignments as requested.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field (preferred).
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards governing design and operating requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Pay
Salary range: $85,000–$150,000 per year, depending on experience.
