TECH ASSISTANT
Reports to: Department Manager | Status: Full Time/Non-Exempt
About the role
We are seeking individuals interested in day shifts to join our radiology team as a Tech Assistant. This role plays a vital part in supporting daily imaging operations while ensuring a positive and efficient patient experience. The Tech Assistant is responsible for greeting and assisting patients, obtaining medical histories, and preparing patients for diagnostic imaging exams. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining safety protocols, particularly in MRI environments. Flexibility to work varied shifts and at multiple locations is essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and acknowledging all patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and prepare patients for exams, including obtaining medical histories, assisting with patient changes, and other required prep.
- Obtain detailed information on MRI safety sheets and ensure patients remove all personal belongings for their safety.
- Start IVs and run I-STAT testing as needed.
- Assist coworkers with daily tasks, including preparing labs for next-day appointments.
- Request and/or upload outside imaging studies for comparisons.
- Maintain clean and well-stocked patient areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a medical office; radiology experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Phlebotomy experience required; IV skills a plus.
- CPR and Medical Assistant (MA) certification a plus.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit and regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach, push, pull with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
