Tech 1, Sterilization - Urgent Need

Job Description Summary

- This position is responsible for adhering to documented procedures and work instructions associated with the proper decontamination of product returned for servicing, as defined in the BDI/Dymax Quality Management System.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and decontaminates medical devices & accessories returned for servicing in accordance with procedure.
• Unpacks returned devices, logs them into the Service Management System (SMS), performs required external wipe downs of equipment & accessories.
• Confirms that the correct equipment was received and logged into the system.
• Tags/labels returned devices appropriately.
• Handles potentially contaminated equipment and chemicals with care.
• Maintains cleanliness of the work area.
• Displays some mechanical and technical competence.
• Disassembles devices and/or accessories according to written instructions.
• Completes appropriate sections of the work order in the Service Management System (SMS).
• Fosters continuous improvement in training and all other areas of team performance.
• Performs duties with minimal supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience working in a hospital environment is preferred.
• Experience working with hazardous materials/chemicals is preferred.
• A mechanical aptitude background is preferred.
• Basic Microsoft Office and data entry skills are required.
• The ability to read and write is required.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
• Availability to work overtime as needed is required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
