About the role
The candidate will be responsible for the mechanical testing of various products used by patients with Diabetes for therapy administration. This includes both sharps and non-sharps products. Responsibilities also involve new product development, line extensions, peripheral devices, quality improvements, testing of competitive products, and compatibility testing.
Responsibilities
- Write or participate in the development of testing protocols
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation such as force measurement equipment (Instron, Chatillon, etc.), linear measurement vision systems, balances, scales, and others
- Prepare and document all test data appropriately
- Communicate test results accurately, both orally and in writing, to relevant engineers
- Cook up and document all test data appropriately
- Coordinate with Metrology for the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and devices as required
- Help with moving equipment, resulting in new test method validations
- Show some familiarity with test method validations, including gage R&Rs
Requirements
- Mechanical testing experience
- Instron, inspection, and lab experience
Qualifications
- Must have mechanical testing, Instron, inspection, and lab experience
Skills
- Strong mechanical testing skills
- Experience with Instron, Chatillon, and other force measurement equipment
- Knowledge of linear measurement vision systems, balances, and scales
- Ability to prepare and document test data accurately
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Familiarity with test method validations, including gage R&Rs
