About the role

Perform a range of repetitive loading and unloading activities to prepare finished goods for transport to warehouse storage, shipping containers, or direct to customers. Team Packagers may be required to perform any or all of the job segments listed below.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect product for defects and transfer defective items to the appropriate location.
• Load product into packaging machines; monitor machines for proper function.
• Unload and visually inspect packaged product to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Place packaged product into boxes and apply identification labels.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results without waste.
• Use knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems; report all other problems to supervisor.
• Prepare pallets of product at loading station.
• Set product on conveyor and configure proper load recipe on equipment.
• Load packaged product into boxes, apply labels, and place filled boxes on scale to be weighed.
• Document the weight of filled boxes, seal with tape, and stack onto Shrinkwrap turntable.
• Activate Shrinkwrap machine for assembled loads of filled boxes.
• Build and position prepped boxes closer to unloading areas as needed.
• Assist team members with stacking boxes onto Shrinkwrap turntable.
• Place wooden skid and cardboard sheet onto Shrinkwrap turntable at the beginning of each load.
• Add cardboard topper and literature inside filled boxes.
• Use hand pallet truck to remove pallets of filled boxes and deliver to Shipping area.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
