About the Role

This position offers flexible shift availability, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Customer Satisfaction:
  • Provides prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
  • Greets customers upon entry and thanks them upon exit.
  • Assists customers and offers product suggestions or recommendations.
  • Accurately rings up sales on the cash register, handling money, checks, and other payment types.
  • Operates fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and processes telecom transactions.
  • Adheres to dress and appearance code; reports to work on time.
• Facility Condition:
  • Maintains store cleanliness inside and out, including basic upkeep and cleaning of all equipment.
  • Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
  • Notifies Store Manager of equipment failures, maintenance needs, or supply shortages.
• Merchandising:
  • Completes build-to orders for merchandise purchasing.
  • Receives and verifies vendor deliveries.
  • Maintains adequate stock levels throughout the store and rotates stock properly.
  • Places advertising and pricing signage inside and outside the facility.
• Sales Controls:
  • Monitors and controls merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses.
  • Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and conducting shift audits.
• Financial Controls:
  • Maintains accurate records of cash, sales, and inventory; accounts for variances.
  • Notifies Store Manager of any discrepancies in sales, cash, or inventory.
  • Follows company guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
• Security Controls:
  • Reports incidents such as employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation.
  • Reports any unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
• Administrative:
  • Keeps accurate records of shift and timekeeping paperwork.
  • May assist with inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Attends job-related meetings, which may require irregular hours.
  • Provides regular and predictable onsite attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Ability to accurately operate equipment such as cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers, and other tools.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including arriving on time.
• Strong communication skills to convey information clearly.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) preferred.
• Ability to perform the physical functions and work in the conditions described below.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in walk-in coolers/freezers and outdoors.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead (e.g., stocking inventory).
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist (e.g., replenishing fountain syrups).
• Ability to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands for an entire shift, requiring eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to push/pull with arms up to 20 pounds (e.g., using a hand-truck).
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, twist at the waist, stoop, kneel, squat, push, and pull.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• Ability to communicate orally and operate a cash register or computer keyboard.
• Ability to work alone and be exposed to occasional noise.
• May require climbing a ladder to store/retrieve materials or place/remove signs.

Work Environment

• Approximately 95% of work is performed indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks such as cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, or taking out garbage.
• Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while working in walk-in coolers/freezers.
• Exposure to occasional noise.
• Works with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Pay

Hiring range: $16.00 to $16.50 per hour.
