Responsibilities
- Foster a safety-first culture and ensure the rigorous implementation of workplace policies.
- Lead and coach skilled trades personnel in all aspects of asset management, including availability (MTTR, MTBF), cycle time, and preventative/predictive maintenance technologies.
- Manage Safety standards, measurables, policies and procedures that are maintained for entire area of responsibility in conjunction with Ford/UAW and plant standards.
- Manage departmental budget spending for labor/overhead, industrial materials and utilities and oversee administrative actions.
- Cook up and supervise Skilled Trades teams across both production and maintenance shifts.
- Leverage machine monitoring tools to identify system constraints and systematically eliminate production interruptions.
- Oversee controls and automation projects. Manage facility maintenance, upgrades, repairs, demolition and new construction as well as installation of new equipment.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with hourly team members, union representatives, and management.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, from business partners to customers.
- Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) consistently and fairly.
- Evaluate team performance and champion a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience OR 8+ years of directly relevant industry experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends as required.
- Fundamental knowledge of PLC logic, controls, and fluid circulation systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related).
- In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles.
- Direct experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, specifically with presses.
- Proven experience managing a unionized workforce.

Pay
This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $112,680-212,760.
Schedule
This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
