About The Role

The ATD Manager is responsible for leading the technical design authority function for complex customer solutions, transformation programs, and strategic service initiatives across Americas. The role ensures that solutions are technically robust, scalable, secure, supportable, and aligned with customer, operational, and business requirements. The position combines senior technical leadership with people management responsibility.

Job Description

  • Mission: To lead and develop the ATD team while ensuring the governance, quality, consistency, and operational readiness of technical designs for complex customer solutions and transformation programs.

  • Main activities: Lead the technical design authority function for strategic customer opportunities, complex solution designs, and transformation programs. Ensure end-to-end design integrity across multiple technical domains, service components, and lifecycle phases. Validate that solutions are technically feasible, scalable, secure, resilient, and operationally supportable. Define and enforce design governance, quality standards, design review processes, and approval controls. Lead technical reviews, design arbitrations, and decision-making for cross-domain technical issues. Ensure all solution designs are aligned with customer requirements, internal standards, security policies, and operational constraints. Identify and manage design risks, assumptions, dependencies, and technical constraints. Work closely with delivery, transition, operations, and service management teams to ensure implementation readiness and successful handover into live service. Ensure documentation, design records, support information, and knowledge transfer are complete and fit for operational use. Support customer-facing discussions and act as a senior technical representative in governance meetings, escalations, and strategic reviews where required.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of ATD professionals, setting objectives and supporting performance, engagement, and career development. Support recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and capability development within the team. Encourage standardization, reuse of design assets, continuous improvement, and adoption of modern design practices. Contribute to business performance through effective workload management, resource planning, design quality improvement, and stakeholder satisfaction. Maintain awareness of relevant technology trends, market evolution, and industry practices to continuously improve design capability and team effectiveness.

Key Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of technical solution design in enterprise, telecommunications, network, security, cloud connectivity, or managed services environments

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end solution lifecycle management, from qualification and design through delivery, transition, and operations

  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility and ensure solutions are supportable, scalable, resilient, and aligned with operational requirements

  • Good understanding of service management, operational readiness, service assurance, and support model integration

  • Strong awareness of risk, security, compliance, and governance requirements in customer solution design

  • Ability to work across multiple technical domains and coordinate contributions from subject matter experts, partners, and suppliers

  • Strong people management and team leadership capability

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members in a matrix environment

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills

  • Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and decision-making capability

  • Strong planning, organization, and follow-through skills
