Team Leadership Workshop

About the role

The George Street Co‑op, a non‑profit natural foods store in New Jersey, is offering a six‑month Team Leadership Workshop. Trainees will be trained to coordinate a real‑world team of 3–5 volunteers, set and achieve measurable goals, and work within a cooperative, egalitarian environment. Training includes group sessions, individualized guidance from experienced team leaders, and a certificate upon completion. High‑performing trainees may be offered higher‑level training based on their interests and goals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a volunteer team of 3–5 members to set and achieve shared, measurable goals.
• Participate in group training sessions alongside fellow leadership trainees.
• Receive individualized guidance from accomplished team leaders at the Co‑op.
• Lead regular team meetings and maintain follow‑up communications with team members.
• Allocate 3–5 hours per week for training, meetings, and communications throughout the program.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar.
• Comfortable communicating via email, text message, phone call, and video conferencing (e.g., Zoom).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a non‑coercive, egalitarian team setting.
• Commitment to the six‑month program timeline.
