Team Leader, Transportation Operations
About the role
The Team Leader, Transportation Operations will oversee the Distribution Center to include warehouse and logistics responsibilities. They will report to the site Distribution Center Manager to ensure timely and accurate operations for the site. Provide support for customers and site employees to proactively address concerns and solve complaints.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily activities, assigning staff duties
- Ensure the facility functions to applicable regulations and company SOPs
- Oversee company vehicles and ensure compliance with US DOT regulations
- Guide and motivate associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Instill a safe working environment mindset
- Respond to off-hour emergency calls
- Process, pick and stage customer orders, track shipments and answer inquiries
- Drive delivery routes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- CDL-C minimum requirement with DOT medical card
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities under busy conditions
- Working knowledge of computer and data entry processes; strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook
- Professional communication skills required to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels and build interpersonal relationships
- Desire to learn and perform new responsibilities
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work various shifts as needed
- Forklift experience preferred
- Knowledge or ability to learn DOT rules and regulations preferred
- One year of transport experience
- Experience with Samsara preferred
Benefits
The salary range is $26.44 - $28/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience and responsibilities. This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
