Team Leader- Outbound 2nd Shift

This job is onsite only at our facility in Des Plaines, IL working the second shift.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all shipments.
• Orderly stacking of product.
• Picking and staging outbound shipments following the highest possible levels of quality and productivity.
• Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and errors.
• Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
• Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
• Maintain product locator system and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
• Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.
• Rotate the product as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
• Conduct operations per OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.
• Adhere to Kuehne + Nagel’s Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment Program policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing and stooping.
• Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight up to 50 lbs.
• Requires work from heights of up to 20 feet from the floor.
• Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
• High School diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lead position where effective employee supervision applies.
• Detail-oriented, customer-focused, excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Languages: English – Ability to speak, read, write, and interpret documents.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills.

Pay

The hourly wage for this position is $25.00/hr. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
