Responsibilities

• Work safely, complying with all safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures, and proactively identify and report potential safety hazards so they can be corrected.
• Assign and modify staffing and job assignments based on sick calls and last-minute production needs.
• Notify supervisor of any policy violations or safety violations.
• Conduct initial reports on safety and production issues.
• Operate all equipment as outlined in SOP, conduct set-up and break-down of equipment as required. Notify maintenance of mechanical problems and assist with basic troubleshooting.
• Serve as safety representative on assigned shift, reporting all safety concerns or issues to supervisors and managers.
• Meet or exceed daily production or department standards set by supervisors or team.
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, carrying out duties following Good Manufacturing Practices and 5S practices, and being responsible for hygiene and housekeeping in a specified work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Computer skills—the ability to learn company-specific programs.
• Ability to enter production data into a computer terminal.
• Able and willing to work all shifts/schedules as needed, including overtime.
• Lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively throughout a 10–12-hour shift.
• This position will be required to work frequently indoors in a cooled sanitary environment with temperatures of 45 degrees or below.
• Infrequently around loud production equipment.
