Team Leader - Fabrication
About the Role

The Operations Team Leader is responsible for providing technical input and creating solutions for improving productivity and efficiencies in the assigned areas of the plant. This individual will directly supervise hourly employees, ensuring a motivated and skilled workforce, and will assess skills, write performance reviews, and recommend or provide training to ensure department personnel are technically competent.
The Corning Fairport facility is a 3-shift facility.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement activities in production areas to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
- Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
- Identify and support process improvements and cost reduction efforts.
- Direct subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
- Interact with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels to gain cooperation and conduct presentations of technical information.
- Provide immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks and checking work at frequent intervals.
- Perform individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit.
- Oversee the direction and inspection of individuals or teams assembling components, processing raw materials, or producing finished products in an industrial environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with an associate degree or high school diploma and 15+ years of direct experience in optical manufacturing will also be considered.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Strong, data-driven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to groups.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications
- 0-3 years of prior supervisory experience (desired).
- Certification in Yellow Belt or Green Belt (desired).
- Experience in leading or contributing to DMAIC or LEAN processes/projects, including Kaizen, 5S, and waste elimination (desired).

Pay
The range for this position is $74,120.00 - $101,915.00 assuming full-time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
