About the role

As a Team Leader at Primark, you will drive sales and deliver an outstanding customer experience by leading, motivating, and developing your team of colleagues. You will collaborate closely with the management team to support the daily running of the store, uphold excellent operational standards, and create a high performing and engaged colleague experience. You will provide clear direction, daily coaching, and in-the-moment feedback to ensure colleagues understand expectations, deliver great service, and maintain strong store standards. With a consistent focus on size availability, stock fill, and merchandising execution, you will help maximize sales while creating a fast, friendly, and efficient shopping experience for customers. Daily, you will collaborate with managers across the store to support colleague performance, manage operational priorities, and contribute to a positive, inclusive, and high-engagement culture.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong stock levels and size availability to maximize sales and meet customer expectations.
• Deliver excellent store standards by ensuring the sales floor is well-presented, merchandised, and fully replenished.
• Allocate daily tasks and support schedules so colleagues are productive, engaged, and focused on the right priorities.
• Oversee key customer areas and ensure a fast, friendly, and efficient shopping experience.
• Support day-to-day store operations, including opening, closing, and store duty management when needed.
• Review customer service feedback, handle customer issues professionally, and escalate when appropriate.
• Coach, motivate, and support colleagues through effective communication, recognition, onboarding, and ongoing development.
• Ensure pricing, signage, markdowns, stockroom organization, and safety checks are completed accurately and in line with operational standards.

Requirements

• The ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively, fostering a positive and supportive working environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to deliver a great shopping experience and resolve issues confidently.
• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• The ability to think on your feet, solve problems, and adapt to changing store needs or customer demands.
• Clear and effective communication skills for interacting with customers, colleagues, and management.
• Confidence using retail technologies, including cash registers, self-checkouts, tablets, and handheld POS devices.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently, orally and in writing, with managers, supervisors, and hourly colleagues in English to provide instruction, coaching, corrective action, safety instructions and lead teams as a manager daily and in emergencies.
• Must be able to provide amazing customer service in English, which includes being able to orally communicate with customers in English and monitor the performance of English-speaking colleagues whose job duties require communication with customers.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $27.00–$28.50 per hour. This is a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The base pay rate offered will account for internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.

Physical Requirements

To perform the essential functions of this position, colleagues must be able to satisfy the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Constantly stand and walk for extended periods, up to eight hours per shift, on hard-surface floors.
• Frequently bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, and reach at or above shoulder level while completing merchandising activities.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise, fixtures, signage, and visual display materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds independently or with assistance when appropriate.
• Move, position, dress, and manipulate mannequins weighing up to 50 pounds, either independently or with assistance when appropriate.
• Frequently climb, descend, and work from ladders or step stools while installing signage, adjusting displays, retrieving materials, and completing other merchandising tasks.
• Constantly perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including assembling displays, handling merchandise, using hand tools, operating handheld devices, and completing detailed visual presentation work.
• Move throughout the sales floor and stockroom, occasional use of stairs where applicable, and occasional work in varying temperature conditions, including outdoor areas or storage spaces where applicable.
• Depending on assigned responsibilities, may receive training on the safe use of equipment such as balers, manual pallet jacks, and electric pallet jacks and may be required to operate such equipment when properly trained and authorized. Colleagues under 18 are not permitted to use balers, manual pallet jacks, or electric pallet jacks.
