About the role
The Team Leader serves as the first level of leadership within the Lean flow line at Electro-Methods and is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of a team of cell technicians. This role ensures that standardized work is followed and continuously improved while supporting the smooth operation of the production line. The Team Leader plays a critical role in sustaining Lean manufacturing principles by maintaining workflow stability, resolving operational issues, and supporting team development.
Responsibilities
- Leads Tier 1 daily management meetings.
- Owns the daily management process driving SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
- Coordinates daily activities of assigned production team members.
- Ensures production schedules and takt time targets are achieved.
- Monitors workflow and adjusts assignments to maintain production flow.
- Provides hands-on support to operators as needed.
- Operates equipment in the cell as necessary to keep product flowing at takt.
- Creates, trains, maintains, and improves standard work processes.
- Promotes Lean principles including waste reduction, 6S, and visual management.
- Supports Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Responds quickly to production issues or equipment problems.
- Assists operators in troubleshooting machining or process issues.
- Escalates issues when additional support is required.
- Trains new employees on safety procedures and standard processes.
- Supports cross-training and workforce capability development.
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership or team coordination experience.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 40-50 lbs.
Work Environment
Manufacturing shop floor environment with exposure to machinery, equipment noise, and production activity.
