Team Leader
Responsibilities
- Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites.
- Safety: Inventory maintenance and organization of supplies; Calibration and maintenance of field equipment to include keeping accurate records; Promote safety and safety culture; Ensure proper PPE is used on project sites; Assist with company required safety training.
- Communication: Daily communication with technicians, project managers, and general contractors; Collaborate with Team Leaders to support scheduling operations and recruiting to maintain appropriate staff among your team; Assist with management of field staff; Actively mentor and train junior field staff as they grow in their careers; Provide support to project managers and department manager as needed; Attend project meetings as requested; May participate in business development, marketing, and client development.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 4+ years of related experience.
- Must have and be willing to maintain basic certifications.
- Advanced certifications may be required based on the work performed.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
- Advanced understanding of construction materials testing principles, applications, and ASTM testing standards.
- Proficient at data interpretation and evaluation of CMT techniques and results.
- Experience performing field and/or laboratory tests on construction materials and the ability to evaluate test results in terms of specification compliance.
- Strong understanding of construction materials testing and evaluation techniques.
- Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
