Team Leader

About the role

Under the direction of the department manager, lead team members in a positive manner in order to fulfill the production, distribution or receiving requirements. Lead the work of assigned team members ensuring compliance with company procedures, policies, productivity and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with leadership and communicate work assignments
• Maintain documentation and records, and produce written reports, in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Ensure physical audit and inventory counts are completed on schedule; coordinate with other departments as necessary.
• Ensure packing and distribution standards are maintained; keep team informed of daily quota requirements to meet business needs
• Serve as a trainer to new and current Team Members; answer questions and provide guidance; provide equipment training.
• Serve as a safety champion and promote the use of safe work habits and equipment; conduct regular visual safety inspection of forklifts and other bulk handling equipment.
• Maintain daily attendance and communicate results to department manager.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
• Based on the departmental area you will train and instruct personnel to set up different jobs i.e. container unloading, rework, production unloading, daily coordination of all shipping / receiving docks, bill of materials and/or other instructional documents.
• Lead the day-to-day activities of the team.
