About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will work directly with adolescents in a residential mental health setting. This position provides direct service to a diverse population of youths, serving as a shift leader to ensure proper staff coverage and program safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide people security by engaging clients in experimental learning/growth activities.
  • Integrate client goals and objectives into daily interactions.
  • Serve as shift leader to ensure proper staff coverage.
  • Monitor staff adherence to structured daily routines, headcount, and meal counts.
  • Assure program/facility safety systems and building security; evaluate systems.
  • Evaluate and communicate training needs, including new hire orientation and recertification training for direct care staff.
  • Implement and mentor employees on company policies, professional expectations, code of conduct, and other practices.
  • Facilitate and document various groups or meetings.
  • Ensure the unit has adequate supplies, including hygiene products and cleaning supplies.
  • Administer medication or supervise self-administration when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Develop high-performing teams using leadership skills and the 7 key principles of care.
  • Support the Abraxas philosophy, mission, and promote the Seven Key Principles of care.
  • Demonstrate appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of two years of experience in the human services field OR an Associate degree or bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must pass physical and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
  • Must pass a criminal background check investigation.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
