POSITION SUMMARY

Succinctly advance and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas, adhering to Catholic Social Teachings, by delivering exceptional customer service to customers, volunteers, and donors. Key responsibilities encompass product handling, cashiering, and overseeing TurnStyles stores. Equal Opportunity Employer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure each customer receives top-tier service.
• Timely closure of the store, including accurate daily closeouts and cash register verification.
• Supervise team in absence of Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Adequately stock sales floor with priced merchandise.
• Maintain sales floor to standards outlined in store operations guide; ready to assist customers and manage cash registers as needed.
• Comply with TurnStyles Operation Guide, focusing on POS operations (cash handling, product handling, and sales floor maintenance).
• Direct volunteers effectively.
• Achieve compliance with Catholic Charities Employee Handbook and TurnStyles policies and procedures.
• Recover and organize the sales floor at the end of the day.
• Review weekly store sales and production expectations with Store Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Completion of VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and ongoing training as required.
• A high school education is preferred.
• One year of retail experience, Point of Sale (POS) or cash handling is mandatory.
• Non-profit experience is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly with employees, volunteers, donors, and customers. Must handle complaints tactfully.
• Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length.
• Must be able to lift, move, and handle merchandise, sometimes over 50 pounds.
• Availability to work evenings and Saturdays.
• Pass background check and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

• Required to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly; capable of standing for long periods; may also involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 9 hours in length.
• Must be able to bend, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
