Team Lead, Shelves, 2nd Shift

About the role

The Team Lead at Dover Food Retail (DFR) is responsible for providing leadership and technical direction to a team of hourly production associates. They ensure that team members work safely and productively, and meet defined production and quality metrics.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and assist in job set-up.
• Direct daily activities in the work area to ensure daily production goals are met.
• Train and coach associates on manufacturing practices, quality practices, and safety procedures.
• Identify parts and part descriptions using work order information.
• Identify proper hand tools to be used in forming crates.
• Communicate job status between shifts and continue work in progress.
• Cook up associate vacation requests.
• Hold safety meetings monthly.
• Perform appropriate preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Understand procedure for ordering metal, location of parts, and contacts for order notification.
• Set the example for proper use of all safety equipment and apparel.
• Have a working understanding of all basic safety procedures.
• Understand emergency evacuation procedures.
• Understand all attendance and human resource policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 4 years of relevant experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience preferred

Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements

• May be required to perform specific tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting or kneeling.
• Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs).
• Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
