Team Lead - Paint
About the role
The Team Lead Paint provides leadership and technical direction to a team of hourly paint production associates, ensuring they work safely and productively while meeting defined production and quality metrics.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and assist in job set-up.
- Direct daily activities in the work area to ensure daily production goals are met.
- Train and coach associates on manufacturing practices, quality practices, and safety procedures.
- Identify parts and part descriptions using work order information.
- Communicate job status between shifts and continue work in progress.
- Cook with supervisor for associate vacation requests.
- Perform appropriate preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Set the example for proper use of all safety equipment and apparel.
- Have a working understanding of all basic safety procedures.
- Understand emergency evacuation procedures.
- Understand all attendance and human resource policies.
Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Competencies
- Previous supervisory experience
- Previous experience working on a Paint line
- Previous AS400 experience
Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements
- May be required to stand most of the time, bend, lift, push, pull, squat, or kneel some of the time.
- Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs).
- Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
