Team Lead Nurse Float Pool-40hr-Nights
Responsibilities
- Frequently takes a clinical support role, either functioning as the Bed Manager on shift, or providing direct patient care at the bedside.
- Supports the organization with delegating staffing, being a resource and communicating needs for the defined patient population according to Connecticut Children’s and unit policies and standards.
- Exemplifies leadership skills and is recognized as an expert by peers and others.
- Applies expertise in helping peers with complex patient issues, and develops strategies to support staff in caring for a new patient type.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Leads change processes by coordinating quality improvement activities in the Central Staffing Office.
Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience: Bed Management experience preferred. Resource nurse or leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge of nursing and institutional strategic plan, day to day needs of organization, accreditation and certification requirements and standards, technological platforms as they relate to CT Children’s as a whole.

About The Team
The Central Staffing Office Nursing Float Pool is a team that demonstrates a high level of flexibility, enjoys variety and likes making new friends. The RN and PCA teams float to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and 3 Medical/Surgical Units. The PCA team also floats to the Emergency Department for patient sitting. We provide the opportunity to network throughout the hospital, care for children of all ages and diagnoses, and expand your skills.
