Oversee the execution of the shipping process

The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the execution of the shipping process, ensuring the accurate picking of finished goods and storage in designated locations for shipment. This includes coordinating with the scheduling team to ensure shipments are planned and executed efficiently, based on customer and transportation department requirements.

Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity during their shift. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the Supervisor.

Monitor KPIs and Take Corrective Actions

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as shipping accuracy, on-time delivery, and productivity, and take corrective actions as needed to meet targets.

Return Empty Containers

Facilitate the return of empty containers from customers, ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Implement Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Identify and resolve bottlenecks or issues in the shipping process that may disrupt smooth operations. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the shipping processes, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.

Generate Performance Reports

Generate regular performance reports on the shipping processes, highlighting any issues or areas for improvement.

Support Development of Work Instructions

Support the development and refinement of work instructions and procedures for material handling and shipping tasks.

Collaborate with Supervisors

Collaborate with the TRMF Material Handling Process Supervisor and Site Lead to ensure alignment on operational objectives and to address any challenges related to the shipping process.

Space Analysis and Shipping Load Calculations

Assist in the development of space analysis and shipping load calculations to optimize storage and shipping operations.

Required Skills and Education

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operational role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure the efficient execution of shipping processes across shifts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and information.
  • Experience with inventory management systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work effectively across all three shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient shipping operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in the shipping processes.
