This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

About the role

The SHIFT Team Leader provides guidance and support to production associates in the MagStop Value Stream. This role is vital to continuous improvement efforts and meeting customer expectations. The position is a "working leader" where 40% of time is spent operating within a team-based manufacturing cell.

Responsibilities

  • Attend designated external courses on supervision/leadership as determined by management, at least annually.
  • Spend limited time on alternate shifts for training and understanding daily priorities.
  • Ensure the work area and associates maintain appropriate 5S standards and update Daily Management boards regularly.
  • Coordinate with Supervisors to maintain a safe working environment, including retraining associates on safety behaviors.
  • Assume a lead role in addressing quality concerns or defects during the shift; conduct training to resolve quality issues.
  • Champion standard work methodology, ensuring consistent adherence and problem-solving deviations.
  • Assist in training new associates on standard work, machine operation, safety procedures, quality processes, and company policies.
  • Lead by example and coach associates on safe work practices, time management, adherence to plant rules, and quality processes.
  • Engage in cross-training on multiple teams/part numbers beyond the assigned value stream area.
  • Act as primary coordinator with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to identify improvement areas and solve issues.
  • Maintain open communication with associates to relay concerns or ideas to Supervision, including personnel, safety, quality, and productivity issues.
  • Interface with previous and following shift Team Leaders to pass on relevant information.
  • Subject to standard overtime scheduling and rotation.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred.
  • Must be a current "expert" in the area and a "Champion of Lean" with previous experience.
  • Ability to perform essential duties above standard expectations and maintain "certified" trainer status.
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents, safety rules, quality instructions, operating manuals, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and stand 100% of the day.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts; noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
  • Must qualify as a "U.S. Person" under federal export control laws (U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
