About Us

Ski Butlers was founded in 2004 to take the hassle out of getting on the mountain and to bring our shared love for the mountains to customers, partners and team members. Over the past 20 years we have cultivated an extraordinary team culture built on collaboration, teamwork, accountability, and fun. Our mission is to make ski vacations convenient by tapping into our shared passion, culture, and fun work environment to create a customer experience unlike any other.

Ski Butlers is the global leader in ski and snowboard rental and valet operations, now servicing over 40 resorts in North America and Europe. Our five core values—Service, Simple, Purposeful, Curious, Give—guide everything we do. As team members we contribute to net‑zero climate initiatives, build lifelong friendships, and make guests’ vacations memorable.

About The Role

As an In‑House Team Lead you will serve as the shift manager for our on‑site ski rental and valet operation within the Waldorf Astoria Park City. You will lead the front‑line team, set clear priorities and expectations, assign team members to stations based on guest demand, maintain equipment readiness and safety standards, and step in wherever needed to deliver a seamless guest experience. Because Ski Butlers operates within partner hotels, you will also work closely with hotel staff, respond to guest escalations, support service recovery, and ensure smooth communication and handoffs between shifts. Success in this role requires adaptability, sound judgment, clear communication, consistent accountability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while leading by example.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Open and close the ski rental and valet operation each day, ensuring all guest‑facing areas and back‑of‑house workspaces are organized, cleaned, and ready for service.
  • Lead pre‑ and post‑shift team meetings, clearly communicating priorities, individual assignments, and expected outcomes.
  • Serve as the shift manager and coordinate the flow of rental fittings, ski valet services, equipment staging and retrieval, guest boot assistance, swaps, and returns.
  • Assign and reposition team members based on real‑time guest demand, hotel activity, and operational priorities while supporting efficient labor usage.
  • Work closely with hotel departments—including concierge, bell, front desk, and transportation—to coordinate guest requests and provide a seamless experience.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests received in person or through phone calls, text messages, emails, radios, and hotel team members.
  • Resolve guest concerns and service issues, escalating situations to the appropriate manager when additional authority or support is required.
  • Ensure Ski Butlers and hotel standards are maintained throughout the shift, including uniforms and appearance, equipment condition, shop and valet cleanliness, organization, and professional conduct.
  • Complete thorough shift handoffs documenting unresolved guest concerns, missing or damaged equipment, upcoming requests, staffing needs, and other relevant operational information.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist guests with ski and snowboard rentals, including selecting, fitting, adjusting, and exchanging equipment according to Ski Butlers’ training and safety procedures.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs before and after their time on the mountain, including helping them put on and remove ski boots.
  • Support ski valet operations by staging, retrieving, storing, and organizing guest equipment during peak periods.
  • Take reservations and process payments, adjustments, or refunds within the Team Lead’s approved level of authority.
  • Assist with basic equipment maintenance, inventory organization, amenity restocking, snow removal, and general operational readiness as needed.

Requirements

  • Professionalism, attention to detail, teamwork, and warm, personalized service in every interaction.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work both morning and evening shifts as daily operations are broken into those periods.
  • No previous experience required.

Perks And Benefits

  • Free Alterra Mountain Company Employee Pass – unlimited access to all Alterra‑owned resorts (subject to blackout dates).
  • Ability to upgrade to a Full or Base Ikon Pass at a heavily discounted rate.
  • Epic Local Merchant Pass, valid at Park City Mountain Resort.
  • Discounted access to 500+ industry brands.
  • Generous discounts to Rossignol, Dynastar, and Lange equipment.
  • 401(k) benefit and match for all staff members over 18 years old.
  • Apex‑MEC (minimum essential coverage) plan for all seasonal employees, covering preventive visits, urgent care, telehealth, limited hospitalization, prescription drugs, and free multilingual behavioral health.
  • Comprehensive Employee Assistance Programs, emotional wellbeing and work‑life balance resources.
