Job Summary
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Team Lead Echo for their Edgewood Diagnostic Imaging department located within the Edgewood hospital. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, first shift.
Job Description
- Perform all duties of a registered cardiac sonographer.
- Perform complete cardiac ultrasound studies in compliance with guidelines set by the IAC and approved by the Medical Directors and Technical Directors.
- Maintain files and disperse results.
- Notify ordering physician of critical results.
- Maintain Quality Assurance of studies performed as well as equipment function.
- Ensure high quality examination of the patients.
- Provide positive example for others in the department.
- Aid other sonographers and students in the performance of their duties.
- Provide technical education to cardiovascular trainees or students.
- Provide feedback to management on overall performance of team members.
- Assign work schedules and maintain Kronos as needed.
- Coordinate patient scheduling for the department.
- Order supplies for the department, prepare revenue/usage reports, monitor unsigned studies, call schedules for physician coverage, update Epic templates, and keep sonographers updated on the most current procedures.
- Maintain continuing education in compliance with the ARDMS, CCI, and IAC to continually provide high quality diagnostic studies.
- Gather information for the IAC, help to obtain studies for submission for reaccreditation.
- Report equipment malfunctions promptly to Clinical Engineering or Plant Engineering.
- Follow up to ensure function and safety of the patients and staff are being met.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses
- Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound degree program and/or qualifying experience in accordance with IAC guidelines.
- Registered in non-invasive imaging with active status registry from ARDMS or CCI.
- CPR certified.
Specialized Knowledge
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic Microsoft office skills.
- Cardiac: Advanced use of Doppler, continuous wave, pulse, color flow.
- Ability to provide professional preliminary reports.
- Knowledge of all of the latest procedures in Echo.
Kind And Length Of Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in all sections of cardiac imaging.
