About the role
Maximizes team productivity by ensuring the team reaches maximum file count and evaluates shipment ETAs to assist with late documents. Leads the team according to client SOPs, follows through on client requests, ACH, and post-entry audits, and oversees workflow including classification, entry, billing, and OGA issues to ensure team efficiency. Assesses ongoing and additional training needs of team members.
Responsibilities
- Assist team members in resolving issues with Customs, OGAs, and Carriers.
- Monitor Customs exams to prevent mis-deliveries and ensure proper handling by account representatives, including verifying cancellation of original delivery orders and issuance of new ones for exam sites.
- Monitor the Entry Status Report to ensure proper handling of Customs holds and exams, preventing entry delays.
- Review rejected entries and Post Entry work (SIL, Entry Cancellations) and have them checked by the Import Supervisor before returning them to Customs.
- Monitor payables and receivables for all accounts, ensuring account representatives check for open receivables before making entries and resolving accounting discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor the Entries Not Scanned Report to ensure compliance with office scanning policy.
- Audit all entries before submission to Customs and before the 10th day.
- Review daily billing to identify missed revenue opportunities and billing problem areas (e.g., multiple billing errors, incorrect codes).
- Ensure CF28’s and CF29’s are resolved properly with assistance from the Import Supervisor.
- Ensure TIB’s are closed in a timely fashion and obtain approval from the Import Supervisor for new TIB’s.
- Ensure all active customers have an accurate customer profile with a valid power of attorney.
- Ensure team members complete Ceridian Time and Attendance by noon on Mondays after payroll, amend errors, and provide coaching where needed.
- Notify appropriate supervisor(s) regarding staff attendance issues, such as tardiness or absence.
- Perform annual reviews for direct reports.
- Enforce dress code policies.
- Ensure staff complete required training courses.
- Ensure team members empty their in-bins daily and maintain neat, organized desks.
- Disseminate pertinent information to team members.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and training.
- Brokerage License preferred.
- Ability to apply basic calculations related to product quantities.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to supervise and/or direct the work of others.
