About the role

This position is based onsite at our Whitsett manufacturing facility. The Team Lead is responsible for supervising a diverse team, ensuring efficient and high-quality production of products. This includes monitoring work progress, training employees, and communicating production goals and procedure changes. We seek individuals with a strong understanding of the assembly process, prior Team Lead experience, high attention to detail, effective communication, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a focus on quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety toolbox talks, participate in monthly plant safety meetings, and 6S Kaizen events.
  • Perform in-process layered audits to ensure procedures are followed and documentation is completed thoroughly.
  • Maintain LDM boards with correct data, owners, and actions.
  • Update hour-by-hour boards to demonstrate team performance and work order status.
  • Review and execute work-center schedules for on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance department to optimize machine uptime.
  • Assign daily tasks and duties to operators.
  • Manage rework and scrap processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data for scrap, excess, and other components.
  • Maintain FIFO and WIP lanes.
  • Lead and participate in kaizen events to eliminate waste and increase productivity.
  • Work with the training coordinator to develop team members.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated integrity in all aspects of performance.
  • Ability to perform work safely and stand for long periods (up to 10 hours).
  • Critical thinking skills to evaluate alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Problem detection and solving skills to recognize and address issues proactively.
  • High attention to detail, including the ability to follow instructions and execute production accurately.
  • Ability to manage a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to disseminate information thoroughly and accurately to a multilingual population.
  • At least 1–3 years of leadership experience as a Team Lead or similar role.

Schedule

Base schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Ability to work overtime as needed is required.

Pay

Pay is determined based on job-related factors, including responsibilities, work experience, education/training, location, and key skills needed for the position.
