Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of warehouse associates during daily operations
- Unload and break down freight (e.g., trucks, trailers, rail cars) alongside team members
- Assign tasks, prioritize workflow, and monitor productivity throughout the shift
- Sort, organize, repack, label, and stage freight accurately and efficiently
- Operate and oversee the safe use of material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, conveyors, bailers, compactors, shrink wrappers)
- Train new associates on warehouse procedures, RF scanner use, and safety standards
- Ensure accurate scanning, packing, and documentation of freight using RF Scanner technology
- Identify and report damaged freight, unusable pallets, and equipment issues
- Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer SOPs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Enforce safety policies and lead by example in safe work practices
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding performance, issues, and workflow updates
- Auxiliary duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of warehouse experience (Team Lead or leadership experience preferred)
- Prior experience leading or training others strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, continuously lifting and moving up to 50 lbs
- Certification on warehouse material handling equipment preferred (e.g., electric pallet jack)
- Proven ability to meet and drive fast-paced productivity goals
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends during peak/seasonal volumes
- Ability to work in various climate conditions (including coolers/freezers if applicable)
- Reliable transportation and consistent on-time attendance
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb for 8–10 hours per shift
- Safety shoes required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
