The role is based in South Chesterfield, VA.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical direction to a team of hourly production associates.
• Ensure team members work safely and productively while meeting defined production and quality metrics.
• Lead by example and act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.
• Assist in job set-up and direct daily activities to meet production goals.
• Train and coach associates on manufacturing practices, quality practices, and safety procedures.
• Identify parts and descriptions using work order information and proper hand tools for metal forming.
• Communicate job status between shifts and ensure continuation of work in progress.
• Coordinate with supervisor for associate vacation requests and hold monthly safety meetings.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tooling; maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Understand procedures for ordering metal, locating parts, and contacts for order notifications.
• Set the example for proper use of all safety equipment and apparel; understand basic safety procedures and emergency evacuation procedures.
• Understand attendance and human resource policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Essential Physical/Environmental Requirements

• May be required to perform tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without mechanical aid on a recurring basis.
• Work is performed in a production environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels, and dust.
