Team Lead Anodizer - 2nd Shift
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Anodizing Team Lead to support second shift operations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and providing leadership and direction to anodizing team members. The ideal candidate will have hands-on anodizing experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Oversight - Lead, coach, and support anodizing team members on 2nd shift - Assign daily tasks and ensure proper staffing across the line - Monitor employee performance, attendance, and productivity - Provide on-the-job training and ensure team members follow established procedures - Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all safety requirements
Production & Quality - Ensure aluminum extrusions are anodized to customer specifications - Verify team members are following documented work instructions - Monitor tank concentrations and process conditions in coordination with Lab Technicians - Conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts are properly racked and meet quality standards - Address quality issues promptly and escalate concerns as needed
Operations & Process Control - Coordinate workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines - Ensure accurate production records and reporting of processed loads - Troubleshoot process issues and support continuous improvement efforts - Assist with line adjustments, racking techniques, and process changes - Support cross-functional communication between shifts, supervisors, and departments
Safety & Compliance - Enforce PPE requirements and safe work practices - Ensure compliance with chemical safety, confined space, and Right-to-Know programs - Conduct basic equipment and crane inspections and report issues - Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications & Skills
Previous anodizing experience required (aluminum extrusion preferred)
Prior leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of anodizing processes, chemicals, and quality standards
Ability to read and interpret production instructions and specifications
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify process issues and take corrective action
Basic math skills for calculating processing times and adjustments
Ability to operate and train others on overhead crane systems
Knowledge of racking techniques and load adjustments
Experience using measurement tools such as an Isoscope Meter (or willingness to learn)
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching
Work around moving mechanical parts
Loud environment with no air conditioning
Requires strong visual abilities, including color differentiation
