Team Lead - 2nd shift Sauk Rapids
About the role
The Team Lead role at Millerbernd Manufacturing is responsible for providing tactical leadership to an assigned team in the fabrication/manufacture of products according to standard work and manufacturing processes, while maintaining company core values and safety standards. This role will be working with the Circular Products Sauk Rapids team on the 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- Quality performance on the team
- Flow of orders within the team including Material Handling
- Engagement of the team
- Selects the team members
- Trains and cross-trains the area in accordance to work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Supports material handling for the team directly
- May either act as the trainer for the area or identify and ensure training of new hires is conducted satisfactorily
- Leads Tier 1 meetings with direct reports
- Accountable for meeting production and quality requirements for the group
- Plans daily activities; resources vacancies on the team
- Maintains the performance of the team; provides feedback verbally and escalates for written performance documentation to the Supervisor
- Promotes a positive team environment; drives inclusion
- Acts as the first line of escalation for employee needs
- Communicates organization priorities and policies; provides clarity of policies as necessary
- Completes timecards, writes performance reviews, and provides input on compensation for the team
- Completes maintenance or facility requests when needed
Qualifications
- Preferred candidates will have prior experience in a leadership role
- Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered
- Experience leading a team in manufacturing or being an informal leader
- Ability to perform basic shop math functions
- Ability to solve practical problems, make decisions, and direct action
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing paperwork and engineering documentation
- Ability to work well with all employees and earn mutual respect
- Ability to take initiative
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and easily adapt to change
- Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings, or demonstrated aptitude
- Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills in English
Physical Demands
This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery. The employee may need to perform work with the use of ladders.
