About Us

Naperville Financial Consultants (NFC) is an independent financial services practice of Thrivent in Dixon, Naperville, Yorkville and Downers Grove. We are growing and adding a Team-Based Financial Advisor to our team, which serves existing clients in the greater Dixon area, with a focus on providing advice and comprehensive financial strategies. The advisor would work within our team structure, utilizing team members and processes that we have built to help serve, maintain and grow existing and new relationships.

This is a full-time role that for the first few years requires in-office presence at least 5 days a week, transitioning to a more personalized schedule after a few years.

About the Role

In this position, you’ll have income stability and the ability to focus on learning and development while serving clients with mentorship through joint field work. The Team-Based Financial Advisor is a Financial Advisor provided a platform to focus on learning and development, rather than solely production. The role works closely with Lead Advisors to receive mentorship, coaching, training, and support. This role could be a good fit for candidates seeking their first opportunity, career changers, or professionals currently working in the financial industry.

Licensing and Training

Over your first 8 to 13 weeks, you’ll study for and obtain necessary licenses (varies by individual situation), which may include:

  • Resident state Life, Health and Annuity
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE)
  • Series 6 and 63, 7 and 66, or 7, 63 and 65

After completing licensing, you may enroll in a comprehensive 6-week training program.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand the entire operation of the practice
  • Participate in Joint Fieldwork to build expertise and learn best-practices within the industry
  • Meet with new and existing clients to build a book of business and grow relationships
  • Solicit and sell appropriate products, complete applications, write recommendations, and service existing clients/contracts
  • Position products, services, and strategies to help clients gain financial clarity
  • Build proficiency in common advice tools and platforms like Salesforce, Money Guide Pro, What-If Tax, etc.
  • Participate in events to attract new clients and provide financial education to the local community
  • Research and respond to client inquiries
  • Collaborate with Lead Advisor on complex scenarios
  • Schedule, prep, and document all your client meetings
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Advisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Military veterans are encouraged to apply.
  • Satisfactory background check, fingerprinting, and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong technical computer aptitude and knowledge of business tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a high quality of work while experiencing frequent interruptions
  • Ability to maintain integrity of sensitive/confidential information
  • Interest in becoming part of the communities where clients live, work, and worship

Pay

Compensation is $40,000 - $65,000 (combination base revenue package plus upside potential through commission). Compensation varies based on the strategy of the practice, qualifications, experience, location, and other factors.
