Financial Advisor
About the role
Proactively engage in sales, business development, and ongoing relationship management for investment services including brokerage, insurance, and advisory products. Key responsibilities include executing a sales plan to introduce UMB's investment processes and products to targeted prospects and clients, building long-term relationships, and assisting clients in achieving their financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Establish and execute a sales plan to introduce UMB’s investment products and services to prospects and clients.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with prospective clients.
- Partner with all members of the service team to assist clients in achieving and/or exceeding defined long-term objectives.
- Assist in managing client relationships and sales processes.
- Communicate effectively with a broad range of prospects/clients using communication and presentation skills.
- Manage the sales cycle and relationship management activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of financial advisor or investment sales experience.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Licenses: FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 or 66. State Life and Health Insurance or obtained within 120 days of employment.
- Clean U-4.
- Knowledge of FINRA, SEC, state & federal laws/regulations.
Skills
- Knowledge of the financial planning process including securities and trading, life insurance and annuity products, IRA’s and basic estate and tax planning concepts.
- Ability to assess appropriate risk levels for clients.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Thompson 1/Streetscape, Financial Planning Tools.
PREFERRED
- CFP, CIMA certification.
- Knowledge of UMBFC or investment products and services.
- Leadership, coaching, teaching, supervisory skills.
- Community and professional organization involvement.
