About the role
The Department of Theatre at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a part-time Teaching Associate of Dance position. This role has potential start dates of August 16th, 2026, or January 4th, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate dance courses including, but not limited to, ballet, modern, jazz, tap, contemporary, musical theatre dance, choreography, movement, dance appreciation, dance history, and other specialized areas consistent with the candidate’s training and professional experience.
- Support the continued advancement of the Dance Minor within the Theatre Department.
Requirements
- Completed at least 18 graduate credit hours in Dance or a closely related discipline.
- A master’s degree, MFA, or other appropriate graduate degree in Dance, Choreography, Performance, or a related field is preferred.
- Successful college-level teaching experience and/or substantial professional experience in dance performance, choreography, movement direction, or dance education.
Qualifications
- Commitment to excellence in teaching, student mentorship, and inclusive learning environments supporting diverse students.
Skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior B.F.A. performance students and design/production students.
