Responsibilities
- Assists in instructional activities as directed by the teacher, including direct instruction of students
- May assume responsibility for class when teacher is absent or unavailable
- Follows mobility, dining, and direct care protocols as directed by the teacher or therapist and as noted on individual fact sheets
- Assists with management needs of students, including performing duties related to activities of daily living (toileting, diapering, washing, tooth brushing), dress/undress, putting on/removing adaptive equipment, and setting up students’ learning environment
- Carries out therapeutic goals within classroom activities as directed by and in conjunction with the therapist, including systematic lifting and positioning of students and application and removal of equipment
- Records data and monitors student responses as directed by teacher or other team professionals
- Follows behavioral plans and intervention techniques for assigned students, as directed by teacher or school psychologist
- Communicates student information accurately and in a timely fashion to supervisor and/or appropriate team members; may be directed to communicate with parents verbally or in writing
- Participates in classroom dining program
- Remains alert and engaged for the entire shift to ensure proper supervision of students is maintained
Pay
Compensation range: $18.28 - $22.80 per hour
