The Social Work program at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for a full-time, academic-year, Teaching Assistant Professor position. Responsibilities
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performance
- Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study
- Contributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the work unit
- Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations
- Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction
- Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline
- May supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instruction
Requirements
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree
- Minimum of two years of post-MSW social work practice experience
- Demonstrated experience teaching in at least two of the following subjects: social work micro/macro practice, policy, ethics, diversity, human behavior in the social environment, or research methods
- Proven experience contributing to a collaborative work environment through effective communication and teamwork
Qualifications
- Previous experience with teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
- Clinical practice experience
- Ability to teach clinical practice courses demonstrated through previous teaching experience
- Qualified for Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) in Wisconsin
