About the role

The Department of Psychology, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a non-tenure track Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor with a Ph.D. in Psychology (Open Specialty).

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for high quality, student-centered instruction in undergraduate psychology courses.
  • Depending on departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise, the faculty member may also teach selected graduate level courses in the MS in Health Psychology and the PhD in Applied Psychology.
  • Making strong contributions to teaching excellence, student advising and mentoring, curriculum development, and program assessment.
  • Engagement in service activities that support departmental, college, and university missions.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related Psychology sub-discipline at the time of appointment.
  • A demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.
  • A strong commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusiveness and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Experience advising and mentoring students, including support for applied or independent student projects as appropriate.

Skills

  • Use of evidence-based and contemporary pedagogical practices.

Pay

Commensurate with education and experience.

Schedule

9-month, non-tenure track appointment.
