Teaching Assistant in Anatomy, Medicine, Medical Sciences & Nutrition (MED266A)
About the role
The posts are available from August and September 2026. They are designed to sustain and increase our teaching capacity within Anatomy, and the persons appointed will join an enthusiastic, hard-working team led by our Regius Professor of Anatomy, Simon Parson.
Responsibilities
- Teach Anatomy to students in the MBChB, BSc, BDS, Physician Associate and Science teaching programmes.
- Contribute to the development of modern teaching opportunities that encourage problem-solving and understanding ahead of memorization of anatomy.
- Utilize and enhance the existing modern facilities and digital resources.
- Participate in the ongoing improvement and innovation of teaching methods and materials.
Requirements
- Education to Masters level (or equivalent qualification) in Anatomy or related subjects such as physiology or medicine.
- BSc (Hons) level with relevant experience and cadaveric material.
- Experience in UG teaching, including dissection and laboratory practicals.
- An enthusiasm for teaching innovation and development.

- Ability to teach Anatomy effectively to students in various healthcare and medical science programs.

- Salary range: £33,002 - £36,636 per annum, pro rata.

Pay
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 scale, £33,002 - £36,636 per annum, pro rata, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
Schedule
The posts are available from August and September 2026, with one position on a substantive basis from August 2026 to May 2027, and another on a fixed-term basis from September 2026 to May 2027.
