Teaching Assistant - Challenge Golf

About the role

Join the Cleveland Clinic team, where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient‑first healthcare. Cleveland Clinic is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the nation. Challenge Golf Course is looking to add a Teaching Assistant to the team. In this role you will train clients in golfing fundamentals for able‑bodied and challenged golf students, providing individual and group sessions. This position also supports community outreach, rehab clients, and the local golf community. It is a part‑time role, with work Monday‑Friday and optional weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Utilize knowledge of the game of golf and the skills necessary to perform the golf swing to instruct others.
• Handle and process cash and receipts.
• Close the facility, including managing golf carts for charging and storage.
• Assist in the assembly and setting up of equipment for classes.
• Practice with golf students by reinforcing the techniques taught during class.
• Remove and store equipment used after each golf class.
• Select appropriate equipment to meet individual challenges of each student.
• Maintain safety practices as they relate to training and supervising golf students.

Minimum qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Flexibility in hours and scheduling to include evenings and weekends.
• Excellent people skills.
• Experience in handling money for challenge golf fees.
• Knowledge of the game of golf and willingness to learn teaching techniques to become an instructor.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of various disabilities as they pertain to learning the game of golf.
• Experience as a golf instructor.
• Customer service experience.

Physical requirements

• Full body motion including handling and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination.
• Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.
• Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Ability to drive golf carts.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

Minimum hourly: $15.00 — Maximum hourly: $18.44. The range reflects the anticipated range for new hires and does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.

Schedule

Part‑time. Work Monday‑Friday with optional weekend shifts.
