Teaching Assistant
Fox Meadow Elementary School is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Levels I, II, or III) to join our instructional team. You will work in an Integrated Co-Taught class or a smaller special education class, supporting instruction, supervising students, and assisting the classroom teacher with lesson planning, material preparation, and student support in individual, small-group, and large-group settings. Our K-5 elementary school offers rich and varied educational programs with an active, supportive parent community.

The successful candidate must enjoy working with children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, in-depth knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods, and effective collaboration are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with lesson planning and preparation.
- Revise and adapt lessons to address student learning differences.
- Assist students with special needs in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, and achievement of IEP objectives.
- Participate in the IEP process and serve as a resource for the student evaluation team as needed.
- Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
- Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
- Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning and performance.
- Oversee students during non-instructional times, including between classes, lunch/recess, and field trips.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions.
- Attend training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
- Completion of NYS Teaching Assistant Requirements (Levels I, II, or III).
- Compassionate and child-centered approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities.
