About the role
The Visually Impaired Teacher position is available for the 2026-2027 school year. This role requires candidates to hold or be eligible for a Florida Educators Certificate in Visually Impaired (K-12).
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to students with visual impairments.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate the needs of visually impaired students.
- Collaborate with other special education teachers and support staff to ensure a comprehensive educational program.
- Assist students in accessing and using assistive technology.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Experience working with Braille is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- At least one year of teaching experience in a special education setting.
- Knowledge of Braille and its use in education.
Skills
- Proficiency in using assistive technology.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
