Teacher-Tutor (3-6 Hour per day)

Qualifications

• California teaching credential authorizing service in area of assignment
• Ability to work with students who are experiencing difficulty in reading, ELA or math
• Past teaching experience preferred

REPORTS TO

Principal

JOB GOAL

To work with small groups of identified children to improve their skills and provide direct instruction and strategies for intervention.

Performance Responsibilities

• May be assigned to work in lab, in-classroom setting or separate classroom location
• Works with identified students and may be part of deployment, in-class instruction or small group pull-out
• Works cooperatively with teachers and site support staff
• Performs directed teaching, diagnosing and planning, and intervention
• Able to be flexible and work independently, self-starter
• Attends professional development as assigned
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Terms of Employment

• Salary and work year to be according to Teacher-Tutor schedule (maximum of 135 days during the school year)
• Salary and work year to be according to current teacher salary schedule prorated to assigned hours

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable.

Conditions of Employment

• Proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license
• Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met
• Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act
