Teacher, Substitute
Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher while supporting the mission, values, and educational philosophy of the Catholic school.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and classroom activities provided by the regular teacher.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom environment.
- Supervise students during instructional periods and other assigned times.
- Foster respect, responsibility, and Christian values consistent with Catholic teachings.
- Manage classroom behavior using established school policies and procedures.
- Adapt instruction as needed to meet students' learning needs.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate records as required.
- Communicate important information regarding student behavior, progress, or classroom activities to school administration and the regular teacher.
- Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Participate in school prayer, religious activities, and liturgical celebrations when appropriate.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum educational requirements as established by state regulations.
- A valid teaching certificate or substitute teaching permit, if required by state law.
- Previous teaching or classroom experience preferred.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
