About the role
The SPED MOD Teacher is a cornerstone of Lawrence Public Schools. Your expertise will enrich the academic lives of students at Arlington Middle School.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility to be a strong, positive force daily in the classroom—consistently and thoughtfully motivate students to work hard and want to learn.
- Design, implement, and collaborate on high-quality shared curricula that incorporate research-based strategies to help students master Massachusetts and Common Core standards.
- Motivate students to reach high achievement by setting class-wide and individual goals and provide specific, actionable feedback on their progress toward academic goals.
- Build supportive working relationships with fellow teachers, associate teachers, and staff, and provide regular feedback to help develop associate teachers.
- Other responsibilities as needed and assigned by administration.
Requirements
- Massachusetts Teacher Certification in the appropriate area.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proficient in English.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Skills
- Prior experience teaching in this area preferred.
- Ability to implement a safe, purposeful classroom environment that prioritizes learning for all students.
- Ability to collaborate with other teachers, instructional leaders, and partners to ensure instruction meets the needs of all students.
Pay
$61,788 – $94,614
This is a full-time, non-exempt salaried position located at Arlington Middle School.
